Physically Prevent Poop Eating!
If your dog has a favourite poop spot, sometimes the best solution is blocking access altogether!
What to Expect
Practice: Anytime your dog has access to high-risk areas
Best Times: During outdoor playtime or when dogs share potty spaces
Goal: Physically prevent access so poop eating becomes impossible.
Step-by-Step Plan
1οΈβ£ Use Fencing or Barriers
If poop-eating happens in a specific area, block it off with:
β Temporary fencing or exercise pens
β Puppy gates for indoor areas
β Raised garden beds or barriers for poop-prone spots
2οΈβ£ Separate Dogs During Potty Time
If you have multiple dogs, let them potty one at a time.
Clean up before letting them roam together.
3οΈβ£ Monitor Outdoor Play Areas
If your dog free-roams outside, designate a poop-free zone for play.
Keep their play area separate from where they go potty.
Paw Tip: Out of sight, out of mind! If they canβt access poop, they wonβt eat it.
